Bringing Milton Together: My 2026 Back-to-School BBQ

On September 6, I was proud to welcome families from across Milton to my 2026 Back-to-School BBQ at Milton Community Sports Park.

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for families, and I wanted to create an opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy an afternoon outdoors and celebrate the year ahead.

It was wonderful to see the park filled with families, children, volunteers and community partners. From the BBQ and music to inflatables, face painting, henna, balloon art and the photo booth, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

But for me, the best part of the day was seeing people connect. Parents catching up with friends, children making new memories and neighbours meeting one another are the moments that make community events so special.

I am incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers who gave their time and energy to help make the day possible. From setting up in the morning to welcoming families, serving food, helping with activities and cleaning up at the end of the day, your support meant so much.

I also want to thank the incredible local businesses, organizations and community partners who helped make the BBQ such a success. A special thank you to Troy’s Diner Catering, Adventure Mania Inflatables, Kalaigni Art Studio, Giggle and Glow Art, Rimsha Henna, Memoriq Photo Booth, Marvellous Moments, St. John Ambulance, Halton Event Rentals, The Balloon Touch, PCCS, Photogems, Halton Police, Milton Firefighters, Halton Region, the Town of Milton and RJM Sounds for being part of the day.

Each of these partners played an important role in creating a fun, welcoming and memorable afternoon for Milton families, and I am truly grateful for their support.

Our community is at its best when we come together, and the Back-to-School BBQ was a wonderful example of that spirit. I am proud to represent a community where residents, volunteers, local businesses and organizations continue to show up for one another.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so memorable. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with so many Milton families and to celebrate the beginning of another school year together.
